Ordination and Installation - Rev. Dr. Lyn Oglesby

On Saturday, 25 February 2006, at 3:00 PM, we will be formally recognizing Lyn's spiritual leadership role in our congregation and the wider Unitarian Universalist community.

We will be ordaining Lyn and formally install her as our congregation's minister.  Unitarian Universalist clergy from all over and Lyn's relatives will be joining us for the special occasion.

Our special guest speakers for this event will include Rev. Burton Carley (Minister, First Unitarian Church of the River in Memphis TN and former All Souls Shreveport minister), Rev. William Murray (Past President, Meadville-Lombard Theological School), Rev. David Bumbaugh (Associate Professor of Ministry at Meadville-Lombard Theological School and author of Unitarian Universalism - A Narrative History)

The All Souls Choir will be performing for this special service and we will have a reception in honor of Lyn after this service in the Social Hall.

"Brown Bag" Discussion Series Every Wednesday at 11:30 AM.

"Spiritual Journaling" Class Starting Wednesday (15 February 2006) at 7:30 PM - In this ten week course, you will learn to use creative writing as a way to discover patterns and find answers along your life's journey - Presented by Barbara Silver

"What the Bible Really Teaches About Homosexuality" Class Starting Wednesday (15 February 2006) at 7:30 PM - In this three week course, we will explore both the Old and New Testaments including Sodom and Gomorrah, Leviticus, and Paul's writings - Presented by Clay Walker, local civil rights attorney

February 2006 Volunteer of the Month -- Ron Babers-Hagar

For February 2006, the All Souls Program Council has selected Rob Babers-Hagar as our Volunteer of the Month.  Ron is one of the most energetic and versatile members of the congregation.

Ron is a well-known leader and volunteer at All Souls.  He is a key person who can be depended on to fix what needs fixing.

For several years, Ron was the Building and Grounds Chair.

He is a talented and dedicated performer who has a appeared in our pulpit as different personalities and in costume.

He chaired the 2006 Pledge Drive Team's "Fantastic Four" Pledge Drive.

On most Sundays, Ron operates the sound system for worship.

He serves on the Social Justice Team and Worship Team.  And he's one of our specially trained and dedicated Our Whole Lives comprehensive sexuality education program facilitators for Grades 7-9.
